There is no better place to celebrate love on Valentine’s Day than on El Paseo. The many fine restaurants on El Paseo offer a variety of ambiance and cuisine for every palette, from French cuisine at Le Paon, to Italian dining at Mamma Gina and Piero Pizza Vino, or fresh seafood at Pacifica and Mitch’s El Paseo. Couples can find a special romantic dinner for two at Café des Beaux-Arts, and enjoy a two- or three-course dinner option, including choices such as Roasted New York, Marchand de Vin sauce or Duckling a’ l’Orange. The Daily Grill is also offering a Prix Fixe menu including a Date and Spinach salad, Filet Oscar, and of course, their Signature Lobster Pot Pie. Head over to Mastro’s to enjoy their world-famous butter cake. This dessert is perfect for sharing after dinner in the restaurant, or even in the bar, where there is live entertainment and dancing. In addition, The FIX is taking orders for custom heart shaped chocolate cakes, and they will also have drink specials on Valentine’s Day as well as a variety of desserts available to go. La Fay wine bar, the new El Paseo hot spot, is a great location to relax to the smooth sounds of Alex Santana sipping wine with great company.
With a variety of retailers offering everything from fashion, home décor, body care, culinary, and more, gift ideas abound. Kate Spade’s Valentine window display is filled with great gift ideas, including shoes, heart-themed purses, and other knick-knacks for a thoughtful gift. Between the Sheets has an adorable display of stuffed plush Dalmatians, for the little girl in all of us. Baccarat is offering some whimsical Valentine themed pieces, including Snoopy, and crystal hearts.
Spa treatments and body care indulgences are also great gifts, with several merchants offering Valentine specials that couples can do together. Desert Dream Dentistry and Spa is offering a limited package for couples on the big day itself. Teeth whitening and a relaxing paraffin wax for couples on Valentine’s Day for $600 (less than half the original price). Quantum touch is offering ‘buy one get one half off’ massages and facials, with free aromatherapy during your session. After your pampering, consider a stroll to the various galleries. Both CODA, and Izen Miller both have great exhibits on Valentine’s Day.
