The Palm Springs Police Department is pleased to announce that the next Community Police Academy will begin September 6, 2018. This is a free program. The first Community Police Academy met in 1993 and the popular program has been enjoyed by the community over the past 24 years. The program meets one night per week for 13 weeks.
This Community Policing project has graduated hundreds of students from all sectors of the community – doctors, lawyers, retirees, students, homemakers, journalists, pilots, teachers and many others. Attendees participate in discussions about Patrol Procedures, Traffic Investigation, K-9, SWAT, Community Policing, Narcotics, Crime Scene Investigation and many other interesting topics.
Academy class attendees may have the opportunity to participate in a Patrol Ride-Along, Communications Center Familiarization, and/or Firearms Simulator Training/Scenarios.

To qualify for the Community Police Academy, applicants must be at least 18 years old and have no felony convictions. There is no cost for this exciting and valuable learning experience.
